AgReliant Genetics Receives USDA Accreditation for Quality Seed Processing

WESTFIELD, Ind., – March 6, 2012

AgReliant Genetics recently received the USA Accredited Seed Conditioning Program – Process Verified certification at its production facilities. This certification from the USDA recognizes the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) for the conditioning and blending of Refuge in the Bag (RIB) seed products as well as the company’s ability to meet the stringent standards necessary to receive this prestigious certification.

“The seed business continues to increase in complexity,” said AgReliant Genetics’ Vice President of Operations, Craig Anderson. “We see the USDA Process Verified Program as one more way we can ensure that the products being delivered to the customer are of the highest quality and uniformity.”

The AgReliant Genetics QMS process was implemented as a tool to assist the company in maintaining its commitment of continual product improvement to its customers.

According to Jim Shearl, Director of Quality Assurance at AgReliant Genetics, “The single-bag refuge solution is a very efficient way for farmers to meet the refuge requirements. We, at the production level, must also be efficient in the way we condition and blend the seed as well as meet the requirements established for us. We proudly offer quality products that are consistently measured against industry standards.”

AgReliant Genetics previously received the USA Accredited Seed Laboratory (ASL) Program certification in 2009 for its seed laboratory facility in Brimfield, Ill., as well as the USA Accredited Field Inspection Program (AFIP) and the USA Accredited Seed Sampling Program (ASSP) certification in 2010 for its proficiencies in inspection and sampling of seed.

Headquartered in Westfield, Ind., AgReliant Genetics is an innovative seed company committed to delivering high quality seed, providing exceptional service, and creating consistent customer value. Owned as a joint venture between international groups, KWS and Limagrain, AgReliant Genetics is ranked as one of the largest field seed companies in North America.
