AgReliant Genetics Seed Brands to Offer Roundup Ready 2 Xtend™ Soybeans in 2016 Planing Season

AgReliant Genetics has announced that its brands will offer Roundup Ready 2 Xtend™ soybeans to its customers for the 2016 planting season. This much anticipated seed technology has been approved for use in the United States and Canada.

Although Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans are tolerant to both glyphosate and dicamba herbicides, the use of dicamba herbicide over the top of Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans remains in late stage of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) review and is not currently approved by the EPA. Once approved, the Roundup Ready Xtend Crop System will offer growers a vital tool for managing tough-tocontrol and glyphosate-resistant weeds.
Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans will be available from Great Lakes Hybrids, LG Seeds, Producers Hybrids and Wensman Seed brands in the United States and from the PRIDE Seeds brand in Canada. For more information, please contact your AgReliant Genetics’ brand seed representative.

As of February 29, 2016 no dicamba herbicide product has been approved for commercial in-crop use with Roundup Ready 2 Xtend Soybeans. DO NOT APPLY DICAMBA HERBICIDE IN-CROP TO Roundup Ready 2 Xtend Soybeans IN 2016 unless you use a dicamba herbicide product that is specifically labeled for that use in the location where you intend to make the application. IT IS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL AND STATE LAW TO MAKE AN IN-CROP APPLICATION OF ANY DICAMBA HERBICIDE PRODUCT ON Roundup Ready 2 Xtend Soybeans UNLESS THE PRODUCT LABELING SPECIFICALLY AUTHORIZES THAT USE. Contact the U.S. EPA and your state pesticide regulatory agency with any questions about the approval status of dicamba herbicide products for in-crop use with Roundup Ready 2 Xtend Soybeans.
