AgReliant Genetics Celebrates ‘Giving4Good’ Program by Donating 5,895 Food Items and More than $8,000 to Local Food Programs
WESTFIELD, Ind., Dec 21, 2018
This week, AgReliant Genetics’ locations celebrated the launch of the company’s corporate ‘Giving4Good’ program with a company-wide food drive supporting local food banks, pantries and programs — a first of its kind for the organization.
AgReliant Genetics’ first annual Giving4Good food drive was a success across the company’s research and production locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The drive kicked off at all participating locations on Monday, Dec. 10 and the donation efforts culminated Wednesday, Dec. 19 when all 5,895 non-perishable food and paper product items and the company’s $8,002 in cash donations were delivered to 18 food programs throughout their local communities.
“Here at AgReliant Genetics, we are committed to protecting the health and well-being of our employees, our contractors, our customers and the communities in which we operate,” said Mark Herrmann, President & CEO. “One way we’re working to bring that core value to life externally is by centering our company-wide charitable giving on three key efforts — serving our customers, preparing tomorrow’s workforce, innovators and leaders by supporting K-12 agricultural education, and addressing food insecurity at both the local level through food drives and donations, and at the global level by investing in research and initiatives that promote sustainable food production for our growing world.”
“This food drive was a great opportunity for us to work together to positively impact our local communities,” said Megan Arnold, Corporate Communications Manager. “The Giving4Good program is definitely a labor of love for us. It is an opportunity to directly influence how we show up and make a difference with customers, our local communities, and maybe even most importantly, each other. We are thankful for the opportunity to be able to give to those less fortunate this holiday season, and I know we are all looking forward to seeing how AgReliant’s Giving4Good program and this annual food drive only continues to expand throughout our communities in the future.”
