AgReliant Genetics Gift Supports University of Illinois Turner Hall Transformation

URBANA, Ill., October 2, 2018

On Friday, September 28, 2018, AgReliant Genetics attended the University of Illinois – College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES) open house celebrating the completion of multiple renovated and newly constructed facilities on the Urbana-Champaign campus.

The open house highlighting the university’s new Integrated Bioprocessing Research Laboratory, Turner Hall transformation, and the renovated Food Science and Human Nutrition Pilot Processing Plant, provided attendees with the opportunity to learn more about the broad range of research and learning in the College of ACES through facilities that bridge the gap between scientific discovery and industry application.

A recent financial contribution from AgReliant Genetics supported the completion of the land grant university’s Turner Hall Transformation Project. This gift was made tangible by the unveiling of the new AgReliant Genetics classroom in Turner Hall on Friday.

The Turner Hall transformation project updated the building into a 21st-century learning environment. The three-floor renovation included updated classrooms and teaching laboratories built to facilitate collaboration and inspire students taking classes in crop sciences, natural resources and environmental sciences, and other ACES majors.

“At AgReliant Genetics, we work to support a culture of learning and involvement and create a positive impact through meaningful investments in our communities,” said Craig Anderson, COO, speaking on behalf of AgReliant Genetics at the donor appreciation luncheon. “Supporting the University of Illinois College of Ag’s commitment to teaching, research, and extension while sponsoring the recent Turner Hall transformation was a great opportunity for us to invest in tomorrow’s seed industry innovators and leaders. We appreciate what the Turner Hall transformation represents for the future of our industry and we look forward to finding new ways to work together.”
