AgReliant Genetics Names Director of Southern Breeding Program
WESTFIELD, Ind., – May 20, 2013
AgReliant Genetics would like to announce the selection of Dr. Craig Kleinschmidt as the company’s Director of Southern Breeding. Kleinschmidt will work from the Kirkland, Illinois research station. He will continue to serve as the station manager and maintain his breeding program at the location.
As the Director of Southern Breeding, Kleinschmidt will direct the company’s full season breeding team. His team’s focus will be to continue improving the company’s elite proprietary genetics by utilizing new breeding techniques and advanced biotechnology traits in order to continue providing farmers today with high quality and competitive products.
Kleinschmidt was raised on a farm in central Illinois. Upon completion of his doctorate in crop sciences at the University of Illinois, he joined AgReliant Genetics in 2005 as a corn breeder, responsible for all phases of inbred and hybrid development. In 2012, he became the manager of the company’s Kirkland research station.
